I will protect my password. I will not use another person’s login and password or give my login and password to others. I will not access computer accounts or files for which I am not authorized. | ||

I will use computer resources in a responsible, ethical and legal manner that does not adversely affect others. This includes actions that are intentional, reckless or negligent. Examples include spamming, hacking, introducing viruses, harassment, plagiarism, cheating and loss or damage of equipment. | ||

I will not share or post online personally identifying information about any members of the LPS community without permission (addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, photos, videos, etc.) For more information see Social Media and WEB Publishing Guidelines. | ||

I will observe all laws and the LPS student handbook related to copyright and licensing. Except for “educational fair use,” I will not copy, save, or redistribute copyrighted material (files, music, software, etc.) Users should assume material is copyrighted unless it is stated clearly to the contrary. | ||

I will not plagiarize and I will properly cite sources. (Plagiarism is taking someone else’s writing, images, or idea and presenting it as your own.) | ||

I will not engage in cyber-bullying, sexting, or the use of electronic resources to harass, create a hostile environment or, make threats to specific individuals, or a class of individuals. Students should immediately notify a teacher or administrator of any such communication. | ||

Network resources are intended to be used for school purposes and may not be used for private gain. | ||

I will use my Microsoft live@edu account, including school email and social media in accordance with school policy and guidelines. | ||

Staff and students who are issued school owned tablets and/or laptops are responsible for their care. Charges related to repair and replacement caused by abuse, misuse, negligence or loss as determined by school administration will be the responsibility of the staff member or student. | ||

I will have my school issued tablet or laptop in class in good working order. If there are problems with my device, it is my responsibility to report the problem to the help desk immediately. | ||

To bring your own device to school you must register it, in person, with the Technology Department. | ||

All personally owned devices must access the Internet through the district’s filtered network. While at home, parents are strongly advised to filter internet access and monitor use of school owned equipment. See iPads: Frequently Asked Questions for more information. | ||

Violation of this acceptable use policy may result in loss of access and/or school issued device. Additional disciplinary action may be taken and, when applicable, law enforcement agencies may be involved. | ||
